Possible Causes

Clogged burner head ports, Misaligned burner cap, Weak or cracked igniter electrode, Failed spark module or ignition switch harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn all burner knobs to OFF. If you smell gas, do not ignite anything—open windows, avoid switches, and contact your gas supplier immediately.

Basic checks:

  • Remove the burner grates and caps. Ensure each burner cap is properly seated on the burner head.
  • Clean burner ports with a soft brush or a wooden toothpick (never metal) to remove food or grease.
  • Dry all parts thoroughly if they were recently cleaned with water.

Ignition test:

  • Turn a knob to LITE and observe the igniter. It should click and produce a strong, visible spark near the burner.

If no or weak spark:

  • Inspect the igniter electrode for cracks or heavy buildup; clean gently with a soft brush.
  • If the electrode is damaged or loose, replace the burner igniter.
  • If none of the burners spark, the spark module or ignition switch harness may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
