Induction cooktop does not heat, display shows E0 on one or more zones

Safety first: Turn off the cooktop with the main power switch and, if accessible, switch off the circuit breaker before touching any internal parts. Allow the glass surface to cool completely.

Basic checks (user level):

• Verify that you are using induction-compatible cookware (magnetic base). Test with a magnet; it should stick firmly to the bottom.
• Ensure the pan diameter matches the zone size. Very small pans may not be detected by Siemens induction zones.
• Clean the glass surface and the pan bottom with a non-abrasive cleaner. Remove any burnt-on residue or warped foil that may interfere with detection.
• Center the pan on the marked cooking zone and try again at a medium power level.

Advanced checks (technician recommended):

• Disconnect power at the breaker.
• Remove the cooktop from the worktop following Siemens installation instructions.
• Inspect the induction coil and pan sensor area for loose connectors or visible damage.
• Check the harness from the glass touch panel to the induction power module for secure seating.
• If E0 persists with known good cookware on a specific zone only, the induction power module or coil sensor for that zone is likely defective and should be replaced.
