Gas burner clicks (sparks) but does not light or takes a long time to ignite

Safety first: Turn the burner knob off and wait for gas to dissipate if ignition fails. Do not repeatedly spark for long periods.

User actions:

• Remove the burner cap and crown. Clean all burner ports with a soft brush and a wooden toothpick (never metal wire that can enlarge ports).
• Ensure the cap is seated flat and centered when reassembled.
• Check that the flame is blue and stable when it does ignite; yellow or lifting flames indicate gas/air issues.

Technician actions:

• Inspect and clean the injector (jet) with appropriate tools; do not enlarge the orifice.
• Verify gas pressure at the appliance inlet matches Siemens specifications.
• Adjust air shutter (if present) for proper flame.
