Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Glass and internal components may be hot; allow sufficient cooling time.
Steps:
- Cool-down reset: Let the cooktop cool completely (30–60 minutes). Restore power and test the zone. If E04 reappears immediately, proceed.
- Access sensor: Remove the cooktop from the countertop and take off the bottom cover. Locate the NTC sensor for the affected zone (usually clipped near the underside of the glass above the coil).
- Inspect wiring: Check the sensor leads and connector for damage, pinched wires, or discoloration. Reseat the connector on the power/control board.
- Measure sensor resistance: Using a multimeter, measure resistance at room temperature and compare to the service manual chart. An open circuit, short, or out-of-range reading indicates a failed sensor.
- Replace sensor: If faulty, replace the glass temperature sensor/NTC with the correct OEM part. Ensure it is properly clipped to the glass or mounting bracket for accurate temperature reading.
Note: If the sensor tests good but the error persists, the induction power module or main control board may have a defective sensor input circuit and should be evaluated by a professional.
