Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the cooktop or any panels. Electronic boards are static-sensitive; use proper ESD precautions.
Steps:
- Power cycle: Shut off the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If E05 returns immediately, continue.
- Check for moisture: Inspect the control area from above. If liquids have spilled over the glass and may have seeped into the touch panel, allow the unit to dry completely (several hours) before retesting.
- Inspect harness connections: Remove the cooktop and bottom cover. Locate the low-voltage harness between the user interface (touch panel) and the main control/power module. Reseat all connectors and check for bent pins or corrosion.
- Look for board damage: Examine both boards for burn marks, cracked components, or signs of liquid intrusion. Any visible damage usually requires board replacement.
- Board replacement: If wiring is intact and the error persists, replace the main control board first (most common). If E05 remains, the user interface board may also need replacement. Always match part numbers to the exact model and revision.
Warning: Do not attempt to repair circuit boards at component level unless you are qualified and have access to official schematics. Use OEM replacement boards.
