Possible Causes

Failed convection fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Faulty fan relay or wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. Internal sheet metal can be sharp; wear gloves and eye protection.

Steps:

  • Check for obstruction: Remove oven racks and the rear convection cover inside the oven cavity. Inspect the fan blade for food debris or warped panels rubbing against it.
  • Spin test: Gently spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If seized or stiff, the motor is likely failing.
  • Voltage test: With the rear panel removed (range pulled out) and power restored, start a convection bake cycle. Carefully measure voltage at the convection motor terminals. If rated voltage is present and the motor does not run, replace the motor.
  • Relay/wiring: If no voltage is present, check wiring from the control board to the motor and test the convection relay on the control board. Replace the electronic oven control if the relay is not switching.

Note: After replacing the motor, ensure the rear convection cover is reinstalled correctly to avoid airflow noise and uneven baking.
