Possible Causes
Relay stuck closed on control board, Shorted cooling fan thermostat, Misreading oven temperature sensor, Wiring short
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
- Allow full cool-down: Ensure the oven has been off for several hours. Some models keep the fan running until the control senses a safe temperature.
- Check sensor: Test the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature. Replace the oven temperature sensor if out of spec.
- Inspect fan thermostat: Some Summit ranges use a separate cooling fan thermostat. Test it for continuity at room temperature; it should be open. Replace the cooling fan thermostat if stuck closed.
- Control board: If sensors and thermostats are good, the fan relay on the control board may be welded closed. Replace the electronic oven control board.
