Possible Causes

Cookware not suitable for induction, Empty pan overheating, Blocked cooling vents, Overheated power module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the affected burner and allow it to cool.

  • Check cookware: For Summit induction cooktops, ensure you are using flat-bottomed, magnetic cookware that covers the cooking zone. Test with a magnet; it should stick firmly.
  • Remove empty pan: Do not heat an empty pan at high power. Remove the pan and let the zone cool for 10–15 minutes.
  • Ventilation: Make sure the cooktop's underside vents are not blocked by insulation, drawers, or stored items. Provide at least the clearance specified in the installation manual.
  • Retry: After cooling, place proper cookware and turn the zone back on. If E1 recurs quickly, the induction power module or temperature sensor may be failing and should be serviced.
