Possible Causes
Failed glass surface temperature sensor, Sensor wiring open or shorted, Overheated power board, Poor thermal contact between sensor and glass
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the cooktop to cool completely before service.
- Visual inspection: From below the cooktop, locate the temperature sensor attached to the underside of the glass near the affected zone. Check that it is firmly clipped in place and not hanging loose.
- Check wiring: Inspect the sensor leads to the control/power board for damage or disconnection. Reseat the connector.
- Test sensor: With a multimeter, measure the sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to the service manual specification. Replace the surface temperature sensor if out of range.
- Power module: If the sensor is good and wiring intact, the fault may be on the induction/power board. Replace the module if E2 persists.
