Possible Causes
Blocked cooling fan or vents, Failed cooling fan, Excessive ambient temperature in cabinet, Overloaded power module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off all burners and disconnect power if there is any burning smell.
- Allow cooling: Let the cooktop cool for at least 30 minutes.
- Check ventilation: Inspect the cabinet under the Summit cooktop. Ensure the cooling fan intake and exhaust vents are not blocked by stored items or insulation.
- Verify fan operation: Restore power and turn on a burner at medium power. Listen for the cooling fan. If it does not run or is very noisy, replace the cooktop cooling fan.
- Re-test: If E3 returns quickly with proper ventilation and a working fan, the induction power module may be overheating internally and should be replaced.
