Possible Causes

Open oven temperature sensor, Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at control board, Corroded sensor terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

  • Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the thin metal temperature sensor rod at the rear wall. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull it forward to access the connector.
  • Check connections: Inspect the plug connection behind the sensor. Reseat the connector firmly. If the wires are brittle or broken, replace the harness or sensor assembly.
  • Measure resistance: With the sensor disconnected, measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature it should be ~1080–1100 Ω. If it reads open (OL) or extremely high, replace the oven temperature sensor.
  • Check harness to control: If the sensor is good, remove the rear panel and trace the harness to the electronic control. Look for cuts, burns, or loose plugs. Repair or replace as needed.
  • Control board: If sensor and wiring are good but F3 persists, the sensor input circuit on the control board is likely defective. Replace the electronic oven control board.
