Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor assembly, Misaligned door latch, Broken or stuck door switch, Wiring issue between lock and control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. The door lock mechanism can move unexpectedly if energized.
- Check door closure: Ensure the oven door on your Summit range closes fully and the latch engages. Look for bent latch hooks or obstructions.
- Inspect lock assembly: Remove the top panel or rear panel (depending on model) to access the door lock motor assembly. Check for broken plastic parts, loose screws, or disconnected rods.
- Test switches: Use a multimeter to test continuity of the lock and door switches while manually moving the latch. Replace the door lock assembly if switches do not change state reliably.
- Check wiring: Verify the harness from the lock assembly to the control board is intact and firmly connected.
- Control board: If the lock assembly and wiring are good but F5 persists, the lock driver circuit on the control may be faulty. Replace the electronic oven control board.
