Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad membrane, Moisture ingress behind control panel, Damaged keypad ribbon cable, Control board keypad interface failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If the error appeared after cleaning, leave power off and allow the control area to dry for several hours. Do not spray cleaners directly on the keypad.
- Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the backguard cover. Disconnect and inspect the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control. Clean contacts gently with isopropyl alcohol and reconnect.
- Check for physical damage: Look for cracks or bubbles on the keypad surface. If any keys feel sunken or permanently pressed, replace the keypad/touch panel (or the entire control assembly if integrated).
- Control replacement: If a new keypad does not resolve the issue, replace the electronic oven control board.
