Possible Causes

Stuck heating relay on control board, Burned relay contacts, Overheated power board, Loose power connections to control

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. High voltage is present on the control board.

  • Access control board: Remove the rear panel behind the control area on your Summit range. Locate the electronic oven control/power board.
  • Inspect relays: Look for darkened areas, burnt smell, or cracked solder joints around the large relays. Any visible damage indicates the board should be replaced.
  • Check terminal screws: Tighten any loose line and neutral connections feeding the control board. Loose connections can overheat and damage relays.
  • Replace board: If F8 persists after checking connections, replace the electronic oven control/power board. Transfer each wire one at a time to the new board to avoid miswiring.
