Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Dirty or cracked igniter electrode, Misaligned burner cap, Loose igniter wire at that burner
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn all burner knobs OFF and allow components to cool before handling.
- Check cap alignment: Remove and reseat the burner cap on the affected burner, ensuring it sits flat and centered on the base.
- Clean burner head: Remove the burner head and clean the gas ports with a soft brush. Clear any food debris from the small port nearest the igniter.
- Inspect igniter: Examine the ceramic igniter tip for cracks or heavy buildup. Clean gently with a soft brush and ensure the gap between igniter and burner is similar to working burners.
- Check wiring: Under the cooktop, verify the igniter wire is firmly attached to the electrode and the spark module. Repair or replace damaged wires.
- Replace parts: If the burner still will not ignite, replace the burner head and/or igniter electrode for that burner.
