Possible Causes

Failed bake element (electric), Failed bake igniter (gas), Open wiring to bake circuit, Faulty relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and shut off gas (for gas models) before servicing.

  • Electric models: Inspect the lower bake element for visible breaks or blisters. Test for continuity with a multimeter; replace the bake element if open.
  • Gas models: Start a bake cycle and observe the igniter. If it glows but the burner does not light within 60–90 seconds, the igniter is weak. Replace the bake igniter. If it does not glow at all, test for voltage at the igniter leads (with proper safety precautions) or continuity of the igniter.
  • Check wiring: Inspect wiring from the element/igniter to the control board for burns or disconnections.
  • Control board: If the heating component and wiring are good, the bake relay on the electronic control may have failed. Replace the electronic oven control board.
