Possible Causes
Failed broil element (electric), Failed broil igniter (gas), Open wiring to broil circuit, Faulty broil relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and shut off gas (for gas models) before servicing.
- Electric models: Inspect the upper broil element for breaks or burn marks. Test continuity; replace the broil element if open.
- Gas models: Start a broil cycle and observe the broil igniter. If it glows but the burner does not light, replace the broil igniter. If it does not glow, test for power and continuity.
- Wiring: Check harness connections from the broil element/igniter to the control board.
- Control board: If all else checks good, replace the electronic oven control board due to a failed broil relay.
