Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the cooker from the mains supply before removing any panels. Elements can retain heat for some time after use.
- Check which function fails: Try conventional bake, fan bake, and grill separately. Note which settings trigger E03 or fail to heat; this helps identify which element is faulty.
- Inspect elements: Remove the rear panel of the cooker. Visually inspect the main oven element and grill element for blisters, cracks, or burn marks. Any visible damage usually means the element has failed.
- Test continuity: Disconnect the element terminals and measure resistance with a multimeter. A healthy element typically reads between 15–60 Ω depending on power rating. If it reads open (OL), replace the element.
- Check thermal cut-out: Locate the high-limit thermostat/thermal cut-out on the rear or top of the oven cavity. Test for continuity. If open and not resettable, replace it.
- Inspect wiring and connectors: Look for heat-damaged spade connectors or burnt wires at the element and thermostat. Replace any damaged connectors and trim back to clean copper before crimping new terminals.
Note: If all elements and thermostats test good, the fault may lie in the main control board or selector switch, which is best diagnosed by a professional.
