Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the hob is switched off before touching the glass surface; it may still be hot from previous use.
- Check cookware: Use flat-bottomed, ferromagnetic pans (a magnet should stick firmly to the base). Avoid very small pans on large zones. Try a different pan known to work on other zones.
- Center the pan: Make sure the pan is centered on the cooking zone marking. Poor positioning can cause pan detection errors.
- Clean the glass: Wipe the zone with a soft cloth to remove any residue or spills that might interfere with detection.
- Power reset: Turn off the hob at the mains for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and test again.
- Internal checks (advanced): If only one zone is affected and others work fine, the coil or its wiring for that zone may be faulty. With power disconnected, remove the hob and inspect the coil connections and harness for that zone. Tighten any loose connectors. If the coil is open-circuit when tested with a multimeter, replace the coil assembly.
When to call a technician: If E06 persists with known good cookware and wiring appears intact, the power module for that zone may need replacement.
