Induction hob displays E08 and will not start any zones, often after a power cut or surge.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power at the cooker isolator and verify with a suitable tester that no voltage is present before opening the terminal cover.
- Check installation wiring: Remove the terminal block cover at the rear or underside of the hob. Verify that the live, neutral, and earth wires are connected according to the Zanussi wiring diagram for your supply type (single-phase or two-phase). Incorrect bridging can cause E08.
- Tighten terminals: Ensure all terminal screws are tight. Loose connections can cause voltage drops and errors.
- Measure supply voltage: Using a multimeter (only if you are competent to do so), check that the supply voltage is within the specified range (typically 220–240 V). If voltage is unstable, contact an electrician.
- Power reset: After correcting any wiring issues, restore power and test the hob. If E08 persists, the power module may have been damaged by a surge and require replacement.
Warning: Mains wiring should only be checked or altered by a qualified electrician or appliance technician.
