Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the hob from the mains and allow it to cool fully. High voltages and stored energy are present inside; only trained persons should work on the power module.
- Check ventilation and fan: Ensure the cooling fan operates and that vents are not blocked (see E05 procedure). Overheating can trigger E09.
- Visual inspection: With the hob removed and bottom cover off, inspect the power module for burnt components or discoloration around the IGBTs and heat sinks.
- Component replacement: Component-level repair (replacing individual IGBTs) is not recommended for typical users. The standard repair is to replace the entire power module assembly for the affected zones.
Recommendation: Due to the complexity and safety risks, E09 faults should be handled by a Zanussi-authorized service technician.
