Possible Causes
Liquid or debris on touch keys, cracked glass over control area, failed touch sensor IC, shorted touch key on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the hob is switched off and cool before cleaning.
- Clean the control area: Thoroughly wipe the glass over the control panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry completely. Remove any stuck-on food or residue.
- Power reset: Turn off the hob at the mains for 5–10 minutes to allow the electronics to reset. Restore power and test.
- Check for glass damage: Inspect the glass around the controls for cracks or chips. Damage can affect touch sensitivity and may require replacement of the glass top and possibly the touch PCB.
- Internal inspection (advanced): With power disconnected, access the touch control PCB and check for signs of moisture ingress or corrosion. If present, the PCB will likely need replacement.
Note: Persistent E10 after cleaning and reset usually indicates a defective touch control board.
