Possible Causes
Stuck keypad button, failed user interface board, damaged ribbon cable between keypad and main control, liquid ingress behind control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the cooker from the mains before removing the control panel.
- Reset the control: Turn off power for 5 minutes, then restore. If F1 returns immediately, proceed.
- Check for stuck buttons: Press each button on the control panel several times to ensure none are physically stuck. Clean around the buttons with a slightly damp cloth, then dry.
- Inspect behind the panel: Remove the control panel fascia to access the user interface board. Look for signs of moisture, corrosion, or burnt tracks. Ensure the ribbon cable to the main control is firmly seated.
- Replace interface if needed: If the keypad membrane or interface PCB is damaged or unresponsive, replace it with the correct Zanussi part, transferring any mounting hardware from the old unit.
Note: If replacing the interface does not clear F1, the main oven control board may also be faulty.
