Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, broken door latch, misaligned door, faulty door lock switch, wiring fault between lock and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the door lock mechanism. Ensure the oven is cool.
- Check door closure: Make sure the door closes fully and evenly. Inspect the latch hook for damage or bending.
- Listen for lock motor: On pyrolytic self-clean models, start a cleaning cycle and listen for the lock motor (with power connected and door closed). If there is no sound and F5 appears, the lock motor or its supply may be faulty.
- Inspect lock assembly: With power off, remove the top panel to access the door lock assembly. Check for broken plastic parts, disconnected rods, or loose connectors.
- Test lock switches: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the lock position switches when the lock is manually engaged. Replace the lock assembly if switches do not change state.
Note: If the door is stuck locked, do not force it; access the lock from the top and manually release according to service instructions.
