Gas burner will not ignite; no clicking sound from igniters when knob is turned to ignition position.

Safety first: Turn all burner knobs to OFF. If you smell gas, ventilate the room immediately and do not use any electrical switches; shut off the gas supply and contact a gas-safe technician.

• Check mains plug and switch: Ensure the cooker is plugged in and the socket or cooker switch is turned on. Many Zanussi gas cooktops require mains power for ignition.
• Test other burners: Try igniting all burners. If none click, suspect the spark generator or power supply. If some click and others do not, the issue may be local to one switch or electrode.
• Inspect ignition switches: With power disconnected, remove the control panel or top cover to access the ignition switches on the burner valves. Check for broken or loose switch wires.
• Replace spark generator: If all switches appear intact and there is power to the module but no sparks, replace the spark generator with the correct Zanussi part.
