Possible Causes

Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstruction preventing fan rotation, Broken fan blades, Faulty fan driver circuit on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the fan area.

E7 indicates the control does not detect proper operation of the evaporator fan.

  • Access fan: Remove freezer drawers and the rear inner panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
  • Check for ice blockage: If the fan is encased in ice, fully defrost the unit (leave unplugged with doors open and towels in place) for 12–24 hours, then test again.
  • Spin test: Gently spin the fan blades by hand. They should rotate freely without scraping.
  • Electrical test: With power disconnected, check fan motor resistance across its terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Replace fan motor: If faulty, install a new Candy evaporator fan motor assembly, ensuring correct wiring and blade orientation.
  • PCB check: If the fan motor is good but not receiving voltage when the compressor runs, the main PCB fan driver may be defective and require replacement.
