Possible Causes
Evaporator fan motor not running, Ice blockage in air ducts between freezer and fridge, Stuck or broken air damper flap, Mispositioned fridge NTC sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before removing internal panels.
- Check airflow: Place your hand near the fridge air outlets (usually on the rear wall). Little or no cold air flow indicates a circulation problem.
- Listen for fan: With the door switch held closed and the unit powered, you should hear the evaporator fan running. If not, unplug and access the fan behind the freezer rear panel.
- Inspect for ice: Remove the freezer rear panel and look for heavy ice build-up blocking the fan or air channels. Fully defrost the unit if necessary.
- Test fan motor: With power disconnected, check fan motor resistance. Replace the Candy evaporator fan motor if open or seized.
- Check damper: On models with a motorized damper between freezer and fridge, ensure the flap moves freely and is not broken. Replace the damper assembly if stuck or damaged.
