Possible Causes

Aged or damaged lithium battery pack, Faulty battery BMS (Battery Management System), Loose battery connector, Defective charger or charging station power board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the charger from mains and turn OFF the mower before accessing the battery compartment. Lithium batteries can be hazardous if punctured or shorted.

  • Check charge indicator: Verify that the charging station LED indicates normal charging when the mower is docked. If the station shows an error, troubleshoot the station first.
  • Inspect battery connections: Open the battery compartment and ensure the battery pack connector is fully seated and free of corrosion or burn marks.
  • Look for swelling or damage: If the battery pack appears swollen, cracked, or smells burnt, do not use it. Replace the pack immediately with a Segway‑approved replacement.
  • Measure voltage (advanced): With a multimeter and appropriate safety precautions, measure the pack voltage at the connector. A significantly low voltage compared to the rated value indicates a failing pack.
  • Test with known‑good charger or station: If available, dock the mower on another compatible Segway station to rule out a defective charger.

Persistent E08 after these checks usually means the battery pack or its internal BMS has failed and must be replaced.
