Possible Causes

Failed Hall sensor in left drive motor, Damaged left motor encoder cable, Loose connector on main PCB, Internal gearbox sensor failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the mower and disconnect the battery before working near the wheels.

  • Check wheel for obstruction: Remove any debris around the left wheel and verify it rotates by hand.
  • Inspect motor cable: Trace the left drive motor cable to the main board. Look for cuts or pinch points and reseat the connector.
  • Compare behavior: In a safe test area, power the mower and observe whether the left wheel moves at all when commanded. If it jerks or does not move while the right wheel works, feedback from the left motor is suspect.
  • Swap connectors (advanced): If connectors are identical and you are experienced, temporarily swap left and right motor connectors at the board to see if the error follows the motor. This helps confirm a motor vs. board issue.

Most E16 cases require replacement of the left drive motor and gearbox assembly.
