Possible Causes
Main brush jammed with hair or debris, Main brush bearings seized, Main brush motor failing, Main brush gearbox obstructed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF with the main power switch (if present) and remove it from the charging dock. Do not work on the unit while it is powered or charging.
- Inspect the main brush: Turn the robot upside down on a soft surface. Release the main brush cover latches and remove the main brush. Cut away hair, threads, and debris from the bristles and both end caps.
- Clean brush bearings: Pull off the end caps (if removable) and clear any wrapped hair or dust. Ensure the brush spins freely by hand.
- Check brush housing: Remove any debris lodged in the brush chamber and around the drive gear. Wipe with a dry cloth.
- Reinstall and test: Refit the brush and cover, ensure it is seated correctly, then power the robot back on and start a cleaning cycle.
- If E1 persists: The main brush motor or gearbox may be worn or burned out. Replacement of the main brush motor assembly is recommended and is best done by a qualified technician due to wiring and sealing requirements.
