Possible Causes
Dirty charging contacts on robot, Dirty contacts on dock, Faulty charging dock PCB, Damaged charging cable or power adapter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the charging dock from the mains before cleaning.
- Clean contacts: Use a dry cloth or lightly alcohol-dampened cotton swab to clean the metal charging contacts on both the robot and the dock. Ensure they are shiny and free of corrosion.
- Check dock placement: Place the dock on a hard, flat surface with at least 0.5 m clearance on each side and 1.5 m in front.
- Verify power: Plug the dock back in and confirm the dock indicator light is on. If not, test the outlet and power adapter.
- Reseat robot: Manually place the robot on the dock so the contacts align. Wait several minutes and check if charging starts.
- If E5 persists: The charging dock assembly or internal charging circuit on the robot may be faulty. Try another compatible AEG dock if available, or contact service for dock or mainboard replacement.
