Possible Causes
Dock IR emitter blocked, Robot IR receiver window dirty, Strong sunlight or IR interference, IR receiver failure on robot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the dock is placed against a wall on a flat surface with at least 1 meter of clearance in front.
- 1. Clean IR windows: Wipe the front of the dock and the front/top of the robot (where the IR receiver is located) with a soft, dry cloth.
- 2. Reduce interference: Avoid placing the dock in direct sunlight or near reflective surfaces that can scatter IR signals.
- 3. Test docking: Start the robot and press the Home button to send it back to the dock. Observe whether it can see and approach the dock correctly.
- 4. Check dock power and LED: Confirm the dock's indicator LED is on. If not, try another outlet or adapter.
- 5. If E13 persists: The IR receiver module on the robot or the IR emitter circuit on the dock may be faulty. Dock replacement is straightforward; IR receiver replacement usually requires main board or sensor board replacement.
