Possible Causes
Dirty or oxidized charging contacts, Bent charging pins on dock, Faulty contact detection circuit, Misaligned dock placement
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dock from the wall and turn off the robot.
- Clean contacts: Use a dry cloth to clean the metal contacts on both the robot and the dock. For light oxidation, a pencil eraser can be used gently.
- Inspect dock pins: Ensure the spring-loaded pins on the dock move freely and are not bent or stuck.
- Reposition dock: Place the dock against a straight wall with clear space around it as recommended in the manual.
- Test docking: Plug the dock back in, power on the robot, and press the Home button to see if it docks correctly.
- If E18 persists: The contact detection circuit or wiring may be faulty. Replace the charging contact assembly on the robot or the charging base as needed.
