Possible Causes
Front bumper stuck in pressed position, Debris or hair trapped behind bumper, Faulty bumper switch or sensor board, Misaligned bumper springs or guides
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the robot and remove it from the charging base.
- Check bumper movement: Gently press and release the front bumper across its width. It should move freely and spring back without sticking.
- Clean behind the bumper: Use compressed air or a soft brush to remove dust, hair, and debris from the gap between the bumper and the body.
- Inspect for physical damage: Look for cracks, bent plastic, or misaligned bumper corners that could cause binding.
- Reset the robot: Power the unit back on and perform a restart or reset according to the user manual, then test a short cleaning run.
- If E3 persists: The bumper switch assembly or obstacle sensor PCB may be defective. Replacement of the front bumper sensor assembly is recommended and may require disassembling the top cover.
