Possible Causes
Dirty IR receiver window on robot, Obstructed or dirty IR emitter on dock, Faulty IR receiver board, Misaligned dock placement or reflective surfaces confusing sensors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the charging base before cleaning it. Turn off the robot.
- Clean IR windows: Wipe the small dark plastic windows on the front of the robot and on the dock with a soft, dry cloth.
- Check dock placement: Ensure the dock is on a flat wall with at least 1 meter of clear space in front and 0.5 meters on each side. Avoid mirrors or highly reflective surfaces directly opposite the dock.
- Test docking: Power on the robot and press the Home/Dock button to see if it can locate and return to the base.
- Reduce interference: Turn off strong IR sources (e.g., some heaters) in the immediate area during testing.
- If E9 persists: The IR receiver board in the robot or the IR emitter in the dock may be defective. Replace the IR receiver module in the robot or the charging base as needed.
