Possible Causes
Dustbin not fully seated, Broken dustbin latch, Faulty dustbin microswitch or magnetic sensor, Damaged dustbin detection magnet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF before removing or inserting the dustbin.
- 1. Remove and reinstall dustbin: Pull out the dustbin completely, then slide it back in firmly until you hear or feel a click.
- 2. Inspect dustbin latch: Check that the latch mechanism on the dustbin and robot body is not broken or deformed.
- 3. Clean contact area: Wipe any dust from the dustbin rails and the area where the detection switch or magnet is located.
- 4. Check for magnet (if used): Some Electrolux models use a small magnet in the dustbin. Ensure it is still in place and not cracked or missing.
- 5. Test switch (advanced): With the robot open, manually press the dustbin microswitch or place a magnet near the sensor to see if the robot recognizes the bin.
- 6. Replace faulty parts: If the robot never detects the bin, replace the Electrolux dustbin assembly or the dustbin detection switch/sensor board as appropriate.
