Possible Causes
Worn drive wheel gearbox, Debris in main brush bearings, Damaged suction fan blades, Loose screws on motor mounts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and remove it from the dock before inspection.
- 1. Isolate noise source: Run the robot upside down (carefully) while holding it securely, and listen to identify whether the noise comes from wheels, brush, or suction motor.
- 2. Clean rotating parts: Remove the main brush and side brush, clean hair and debris from bearings and shafts, then test again.
- 3. Check wheel gearboxes: Rotate each drive wheel by hand. Grinding or clicking suggests internal gearbox wear; the wheel module should be replaced.
- 4. Inspect suction motor: With brushes removed, run the robot and listen to the fan. If the noise is from the fan area, the suction motor assembly may have damaged bearings or blades.
- 5. Tighten fasteners: Open the bottom cover and gently tighten mounting screws for motors and gearboxes.
- 6. Replace noisy modules: Replace the affected Electrolux drive wheel assembly, main brush assembly, or suction motor assembly as needed.
