Possible Causes
Main brush jammed with hair or debris, Main brush end bearings seized, Main brush motor failing, Main brush gearbox obstructed or damaged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF using the power switch (if present) and remove it from the charging dock. Do not work on the robot while it is powered or charging.
- Inspect the main brush: Turn the robot upside down. Release the main brush cover latch and remove the main brush. Cut away hair, threads, and debris from the bristles and both end caps.
- Clean brush bearings: Pull off the end caps (if removable) and clear any wrapped hair or dust. Wipe the bearing surfaces with a dry cloth.
- Check brush housing: Look inside the brush cavity for stuck objects (toys, carpet fringe, etc.) and remove them.
- Reinstall and test: Refit the main brush and cover securely. Power the robot back on and start a cleaning cycle.
- If E1 persists: The main brush motor or gearbox may be worn or burnt. Inspect for burnt smell or grinding noise. If present, replace the Main Brush Motor Assembly following the service manual or contact a technician.
