Possible Causes

Side brush tangled with hair or string, Side brush hub cracked or deformed, Side brush motor shaft bent or seized, Side brush motor wiring loose on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Power OFF the robot and remove it from the dock.

  • Remove the side brush: Turn the robot over. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw holding the side brush. Pull the side brush straight off the shaft.
  • Clean the hub: Remove hair and threads wrapped around the side brush hub and motor shaft. Use tweezers if needed.
  • Check for damage: Inspect the plastic hub for cracks or warping. If the hub is loose on the shaft or deformed, replace the Side Brush.
  • Test motor rotation: With the side brush removed, turn the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle. Observe the side brush motor shaft. It should spin freely. If it does not move, or only twitches, the Side Brush Motor may be faulty.
  • Inspect wiring (advanced): Remove the bottom cover (several screws) and trace the side brush motor wires to the main PCB. Ensure the connector is fully seated and there is no visible damage.
  • Reassemble and test: Reinstall or replace the side brush, tighten the screw, and run a test clean.
  • If still failing: Replace the Side Brush Motor or the entire Side Brush Module for your Honiture model.
