Possible Causes

Cliff sensors covered with dust, Infrared emitter/receiver windows scratched or blocked, Cliff sensor harness loose, Cliff sensor board failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Power OFF the robot and remove it from the dock.

  • Locate cliff sensors: On most Honiture robot vacuums, there are 3–4 cliff sensors on the underside near the front edge.
  • Clean sensor windows: Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe each sensor window. For stubborn dirt, lightly dampen the cloth with water or isopropyl alcohol and wipe again. Do not spray liquid directly on the sensors.
  • Check for damage: Inspect the plastic windows for deep scratches or cracks that could distort the infrared beam.
  • Test on a light surface: Place the robot on a flat, light-colored floor away from edges and start a cleaning cycle. If it still reports a cliff error on flat ground, a sensor may be failing.
  • Advanced check: Remove the bottom cover and verify the cliff sensor board connectors are firmly seated on the main PCB.
  • If unresolved: Replace the Cliff Sensor Board / Anti‑Drop Sensor Assembly for your Honiture model.
