Possible Causes
Charging contacts dirty or bent, Dock power adapter faulty, Dock internal PCB failure, Robot charging circuit or fuse damaged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the charging dock from the wall before cleaning contacts.
- Verify power: Plug the dock into a known-good outlet. Confirm that the dock's power indicator (if present) is lit.
- Clean contacts: Use a dry cloth to clean the metal contacts on both the dock and the robot. For stubborn oxidation, lightly rub with a pencil eraser and wipe clean.
- Check alignment: Place the robot on the dock manually, ensuring the contacts align fully. Listen for a charging chime or look for a charging icon on the robot.
- Test adapter: If possible, test the dock's power adapter with a multimeter or try a compatible replacement adapter with the same voltage and current rating.
- Inspect dock: If the dock shows no power, replace the Charging Dock / Home Base.
- Robot-side issue: If the dock is powered but the robot still shows E9, the internal Charging Board or main PCB may be faulty. This repair typically requires professional service or main board replacement.
