Possible Causes
Dirty front IR dock sensor, Faulty dock detection board, Misaligned sensor, Loose wiring to sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot before cleaning sensors.
- Step 1 – Clean front sensor: Wipe the front-facing IR window used for dock detection with a soft cloth.
- Step 2 – Test docking: Place the dock against a wall and start a return-to-home command. Observe if the robot sees and approaches the dock.
- Step 3 – Check dock placement: Ensure there is at least 0.5 m of free space on each side and 1.5 m in front of the dock.
- Step 4 – Inspect sensor board: Open the front cover and verify the dock detection sensor board is secure and its connector is firmly attached.
- Step 5 – Replace sensor board: If the robot still cannot detect the dock and E17 persists, replace the Medion home/dock IR sensor board.
