Possible Causes
Stuck or damaged buttons, Moisture ingress into keypad, Faulty button PCB, Loose ribbon cable to mainboard
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock. If there are signs of liquid spill, disconnect the battery before opening.
- Step 1 – Check for stuck buttons: Press each top button several times. They should move freely and return to position. If one is stuck, gently work it free.
- Step 2 – Dry moisture: If the robot was exposed to liquid, leave it open in a dry, ventilated area for at least 24 hours before powering on.
- Step 3 – Inspect keypad board: Remove the top cover and locate the button PCB. Check the ribbon cable connection to the mainboard and reseat it.
- Step 4 – Clean contacts: If accessible, clean the button contacts with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.
- Step 5 – Replace keypad PCB: If buttons still misbehave or E20 persists, replace the Medion top control panel / keypad PCB.
