Possible Causes
Dustbin not fully inserted, Dirty dustbin sensor contacts, Broken dustbin detection switch, Faulty dustbin full infrared sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot before removing the dustbin.
- Step 1 – Reseat dustbin: Remove the dustbin completely and then reinsert it firmly until it clicks. Ensure the lid is properly closed.
- Step 2 – Clean contacts and windows: If your Medion model uses electrical contacts on the bin, clean them with a dry cloth. Also clean any small IR windows or openings used for dust level detection.
- Step 3 – Inspect bin switch: Look inside the dustbin slot for a small mechanical switch or sensor lever. Press it gently to confirm it moves freely. Remove any debris blocking it.
- Step 4 – Test with another bin (if available): If you have a spare Medion dustbin, try it to rule out a defective bin.
- Step 5 – Replace sensor or bin: If the robot still reports E7, replace the dustbin presence switch/IR sensor on the main housing or replace the complete Medion dustbin assembly if its internal sensor is faulty.
