Robot vacuum shows E8 and stops, often when the main brush is heavily loaded or tangled.

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock. Do not run the brush while it is jammed to avoid motor damage.

• Step 1 – Remove main brush: Open the main brush cover on the underside. Lift out the main brush and end caps.
• Step 2 – Clean thoroughly: Remove all hair, threads, and debris from the brush, end caps, and brush housing. Pay special attention to the ends of the brush where hair can wrap tightly around the shafts.
• Step 3 – Check bearings: Spin the brush with your fingers. It should rotate freely. If the end caps are stiff, clean them and, if the design allows, very lightly lubricate the bearing with a drop of dry PTFE lubricant (never oil that attracts dust).
• Step 4 – Test without brush: With the brush removed, turn the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle. Look into the brush chamber to see if the brush motor shaft spins freely.
• Step 5 – Inspect motor and wiring: If the shaft does not spin, remove the bottom cover and check the main brush motor wiring and connector to the mainboard. Reseat the connector.
• Step 6 – Replace brush or motor: If the motor is burnt, noisy, or does not run with proper power, replace the Medion main brush motor assembly. If the motor runs but the brush is worn or warped, replace the Medion main brush roller.
