Possible Causes
Hair wrapped around caster axle, Debris lodged in caster socket, Rusted or worn caster bearing, Caster wheel bracket damaged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Power off the robot and turn it upside down on a soft surface.
- Remove the caster wheel: Grip the front caster wheel and pull straight up; on most Neabot models it will pop out of its socket.
- Clean the axle: Remove hair and fibers from the caster shaft and the socket using tweezers and a dry cloth.
- Check rotation: Spin the caster wheel on its axle by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If it feels rough or seized, replace the caster wheel assembly.
- Clean the socket: Blow out dust and debris from the caster socket. Ensure the socket is not cracked.
- Reinstall and test: Push the caster back into the socket until it clicks. Power on the robot and start a cleaning cycle.
Warning: Do not apply grease or oil to the caster; it will attract dust and can cause future jams.
