Possible Causes
Dirty or oxidized charging contacts on robot, Dirty dock charging pads, Loose internal battery connector, Degraded lithium battery pack
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the charging dock from the wall before cleaning contacts.
- Clean robot contacts: Use a dry microfiber cloth or a pencil eraser to gently clean the metal charging contacts on the back or underside of the robot.
- Clean dock contacts: Wipe the dock's metal pads with a dry cloth. If there is heavy oxidation, lightly rub with an alcohol-dampened cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Check dock power: Plug the dock back in and confirm the dock indicator light is on.
- Seat robot correctly: Place the robot on the dock, ensuring the contacts align. Look for the charging icon in the app or on the robot.
- Battery inspection: If the robot still shows E8 or shuts off quickly, the internal battery pack may be loose or failing. On many Neabot models, the battery is accessible via a bottom cover; ensure the connector is firmly seated. If the pack is swollen or older than 2–3 years, replace it.
Warning: Do not puncture, crush, or short-circuit the lithium battery pack. If it appears swollen or leaks, stop using the robot and dispose of the battery according to local regulations.
