Possible Causes
Dustbin not fully seated, Dust or debris on dustbin sensor, Broken dustbin latch, Faulty dustbin microswitch or Hall sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the robot.
- Remove and reinstall dustbin: Pull out the dustbin completely and then push it back in firmly until it clicks.
- Clean sensor area: Inspect the dustbin cavity for a small switch or magnetic sensor. Wipe the area with a dry cloth. Clean any magnets or tabs on the dustbin that interact with the sensor.
- Check dustbin latch: Ensure the dustbin door closes securely and that the bin is not warped or cracked.
- Test operation: Power on the robot and check if the E9 error clears. If the error persists only when a specific dustbin is used, replace the dustbin assembly.
- Internal sensor check: If multiple bins fail to clear the error, the internal dustbin sensor on the mainboard may be faulty and require professional repair.
Warning: Do not bypass the dustbin sensor by taping switches closed; operating without a bin can pull debris into the motor and electronics.
