Possible Causes
Debris in main brush bearings, Worn drive wheel gearbox, Damaged suction fan impeller, Loose internal screws or panels
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the robot and remove it from the dock.
- Isolate noise source: Run the robot briefly upside down while holding it securely (only if safe) to determine if noise comes from brushes, wheels, or fan. Alternatively, start cleaning and listen near each component.
- Check brushes: Remove main and side brushes. Clean hair from bearings and end caps. Run the robot without brushes for a few seconds; if noise disappears, replace the noisy brush assembly.
- Inspect wheels: Rotate each drive wheel by hand. Grinding or clicking suggests gearbox wear; replace the affected wheel module.
- Fan noise: If noise persists with brushes removed and seems to come from inside the body, the suction fan impeller may be damaged. This requires fan module replacement.
Warning: Do not run the robot upside down for more than a few seconds and keep fingers away from moving parts.
