Possible Causes
Dirty or misaligned cliff sensors, Very dark or glossy flooring, Strong sunlight on sensors, Failing IR emitter/receiver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the robot OFF before cleaning sensors.
- Clean cliff sensors: Wipe all downward-facing sensors with a dry microfiber cloth.
- Test on different flooring: Move the robot to a lighter-colored, matte floor and start a cleaning cycle. If it works there, your dark or glossy floor is triggering the sensors.
- Adjust environment: Reduce direct sunlight on the floor and avoid placing the dock near stairs or sharp drops.
- If still failing: One or more cliff sensors may be defective and need replacement.
